DimPlan

A personal travel planning project that brings a multi-city trip into one itinerary

DimPlan is a multi-city travel itinerary planner I'm building as a personal project. It started with a friend who travels often and a simple idea: make an app they could try. The project brings the different stops of a trip into one itinerary, and the 2026 version is currently in staging testing.

Built with someone in mind

The starting point was someone I knew. Having a friend who travels regularly gave me a reason to turn an interest in travel planning into an application. I'm building DimPlan independently, working on both the application and its interface.

How the application fits together

At a high level, the flow is frontend → cache → backend → API. That is the outline of how the parts of DimPlan connect, from the interface to the API calls behind it.

Finding the right interface

Design has been the biggest challenge so far. I've worked through several versions of the UI, revisiting how the planning experience should look and feel. That iteration is a substantial part of the project alongside the development work: the interface needs attention of its own.

Try the work in progress

DimPlan is currently being tested in staging. You can open the staging version to try it as it develops. Features and the interface may change during testing.
